Recall – Chrysler and Ford Trucks

Comments Off

More than 121,000 vehicles have been recalled by Chrysler Group, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

65,180 – 2009 Dodge Journey crossovers have been recalled due to defective wires in the front-door wiring harness that can break over time. The defect can also cause the side air bag not to deploy, posing a safety risk in a crash. However, the airbag warning light would alert the owner if the side airbag is not functional.

There have been no reports of crashes, fires or injures due associated with this recall.

56,611 – 2011 Ram 1500 pickup trucks are being recalled due to potential seizing in the rear axle bearing, which can cause a crash.

Chrysler will begin notifying owners of both recalls in February. Dealers will check and replace the defective parts free of charge.

Ford Recall:

Ford Motor Co. also announced a recall of some 2011 model year Ford F150, F250, F350, F450, and F550 pickup trucks and 2011 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers to address potential electrical shorts that could lead to fires. Ford will begin sending out recall notices later this month.
